Agree that Gortex is totally pointless for a patch. Re looks, the regular Tenacious Tape (which is terrific) comes in clear, which is going to look a whole lot better on most colors than black would.

Yes yet they are two different products made of different material. They even have different application methods. The Gore-Tex patches are actual Gore-Tex versus the vinyl patch material you linked....

Both are waterproof and for the same materials, made by the same manufacturer. The only difference is one is licensed under the gore-tex name. Gore-tex makes sense in a whole jacket since you need it...

I doubt it. Out of 319 reviews, it has 4.4 out of 5 rating. Pretty good rating and it's water proof. For $3.49 it's definitely worth a try.
