Your particular plan may not have an auto-pay discount then.
In my experience, auto-pay discount has always applied as long as you have a valid debit / credit card on-file, and use Verizon refill...

You must be lucky then, because I got the autopay discount with my CC but once it deducted from my GC balance, the discount went away.

Agreed, I basically saved about $100 for about 10 minutes of work. The only reason I got a Redcard was for deals like this.
