Yes, you want the two extra cores for any hope of future usage. Any less than four and you're better off buying a kaby lake or older laptop with actual options for LCD, storage, memory, SUPPORT, etc....

I used the Costco Anywhere Visa for this purchase. It adds 2 yrs to manufacture's warranty. No accidental damage, I don't think. So I guess the total computes to 3 years parts and 2 1/2 years labor....

The BIOS looks basic. I doubt it has the ability to increase the vram. It is very easy to disassemble. There are YouTube disassembly videos of this laptop now.

That happened to me too... a few times.... then one time it actually worked. Try closing everything in the background and waiting for the computer to settle down before you accept the BIOS update.
