I don't understand the max out of RAM at 16 on anything higher end. In a couple years bumping up RAM - which will be cheaper then - will extend the useful life of any machine.

Why is this a so great deal? Because it’s a 4K display? Only 4-cores, 8th gen chip, Intel graphics, no WiFi ax, only 16Gb DDR3 memory. Makes no sense

True it’s not 10 nm gen 10, but 6 cores make it a beast. I don’t care about graphics too much as I am not going to play games on it. My point is, this 9380 deal isn’t so slick.

I don't think ANY manufacturer makes laptops in 13" form factor with dedicated graphics. You'd need at least an XPS 15 or other 15" laptop.

It doesn't exist. If you want an xps for under $900 it's going to be FHD not 4k. Have 8gigs of integrated ram not 16. Have a i3/5 processor not i7.
