Not specifically, although I do feel like AF isn’t quite as fast as I would like it to be. Kids require speed :) if I can get $400-500 for my 6D and get an eos r deal like the recent one for $1300...

Save your dough - you don't need a big expensive full frame camera. The Sony a6100/6600 have better autofocus than anything save the a9 and will save you a grand or more, easily.

Is there some way that your 6D is limiting you from getting pictures of your kids? I wouldn’t upgrade just for the eye af, as nice of a feature as it is.

There are a few holes left and I think the 70-200 GM needs to be redone but otherwise they’ve done a good job maturing the system. Night and day difference from 4 years ago.

Ha I just posted a similar question - I have a canon 24-70 L lens I love and that is what’s keeping me from the Sony. Is AF/eye AF significantly better in the Sony or will eos r do the job? Same...

I’m interested in upgrading to the eos r mostly for face recognition - mostly I take pics of my kids. Currently have 6d and 24-70 L lens that I use most of the time. Have waffled between Sony and...

Then the Sony a7iii with the eye autofocus is a nobrainer for you. It is amazing how the focus is always spot on when shooting razor thin at F1.4. It even drives the 85mm F1.4 lens very fast....

Sony really needs to add a few more niche pieces of glass IMO—200 1.8/f2/2.8, 100 f1.4, w/a tilt/shift glass, and of course the 300 2.8 that is supposedly coming out in time for the Olympics.

Honestly they are both great cameras. It depends what are your needs for camera, video, job, hobby, requirements and the type of lens you want. Perhaps if you are a bit more specific on what are you...

I would got with the Sony any day. There cameras are doing so much better right now then Nikons or Canon. Especially when you look at nighttime photography.

Not exactly the same, but I owned the Z6 and switched to an a7riii about a month ago. Loved the ergonomics and display of the Z6, but the autofocus just isn’t quite in the same league as the newer...

Above poster is right, really depends on wants and needs. I had a z7 and switched to the A7rIV because the autofocus is leagues better in both tracking and subject acquisition. Dual card slots were...

If you have the dough and aren't looking to use an existing collection of F-mount Nikon glass, it's hard to argue against the A7rIV. It's an amazing camera, but the body itself costs more then this...
