I love hue but all the add-ons beyond the bulbs are just so expensive and even those are expensive. I think Hue would be so much more popular if it was priced a little more towards the average...

Not sure what you mean. The way many of us are using it is just using a second output from our receivers into the sync box. Not outputting any video out of the sync box at all.

Agreed, $150 with a gift card is about what I’d spend. I like the sync, but the performance hit on PC and lack of hdr capability makes it less than ideal.

Xbox works. All you have to do is stream your console to your pc. Then the hue lights work off of that video in full screen. Works like a charm.

I love IKEA's Tradfri 1000 lumen bulbs. They are brighter than the Hue bulbs and are $10 apiece. I can change the white balance and they are awesome. Obviously they work with Hue.

There is an app that does the same thing. Point the camera of your tablet or phone at the tv and it changes your hue to match. Think it was free.

My receiver literature says that it can. If I only use one HDMI output it can do DV. If I use both HDMI outputs, it can only do HDR10 on each.

The rule of thumb should be smart switches and dimmable LED in built-in fixtures, and Hue bulbs for accent lighting in lamps, cabinetry and everywhere else for non-fixed applications.
