You're also implying that using this cable will increase power consumption of your system by 5x. The power loss increase is limited to the cable, which with this short distance is going to be...

TL;DR: Quality cables are affordable - don't skimp when your time is worth more than trouble shooting unreliable cables. Hi TimO Yes - the volts and watts are different things. In either of...

FYI - thinner wires may be problematic for POE applications but work great otherwise Basic Voltage Drop Law Vdrop = IR P(loss) = V(drop)*I V(drop) = I*R Substitute for V and the formula for...

They can work with poe but the range is limited. The top end brand that sells and certifies their cables that is not monoprice has like a maximum of 27 meters. But normal wires would be better in...

The slim run cables can get cut easily. I have some short runs connected to our router and I have no idea how one of them got sliced. Other than that, they are great.

Boomer here. I didn't recognize the jargon of PoE, so I had to look it up. It stands for Power over Ethernet. Edit: Just noticed that gluttonne defined PoE a few posts back. Thanks.

I have used them for POE runs multiple times, they work just as well as the thicker standard cat 6 cables. Absolutely no discernible difference.

Calling these Cat6A is deceptive. They may test out to 6A specs over a short distance, on their own, but the 6A specification requires that is it 23awg or larger. I've used these slim cables for...

For those wondering, thickness of wire increases as the gauge number decreases. It's counter intuitive. So, thought I'd mention. 30 is less thick than 24.
