I've had mine even longer! Still works great! My GF did buy us the two pack of model 4300 over Christmas, and I have to say that it's a night and day difference! I'm very impressed with the 4300.

I agree, had the ni-cad battery and lasted 7-10years. Now I have the ni-metal hydride (sp)? After 5years only holds one cycle charge. I’m still using it, just have to charge after every use.
