RP-280F was the newer and improved version of the 28’s and includes the rubber molded horns. The RP is directly replaced by the RP 8000F. RP 280 is better unless you compare against RF-7 II.

Well there are many many factors that go into what is "good" when it comes to hearing.
I would say that price tag is not a good indicator and actually the best is your ears IMO.
