That's not true, the Textnow service does not require their own sim card. It's been stated on several places throughout this thread that it works with any Sprint sim card that's eligible/working. ...

Your textnow service will work with any phone as long as there's Wi-Fi connected to the internet. Have you try to use it with just sprint cellular?

I did not need to purchase a sim card or register the phone in any way. However, it did go through an "activation" process when I turned on the phone, likely because the SIM card was brand new...

If it is a boost mobile phone, I don't think it will work on Sprint unless you have used it on boost for certain number of days/months. I used mine on Ringplus and never used it on Boost or Sprint.

This has been answered many times. e6 doesn't do data on Sprint MVNOs and you must have data for TextNow to work.
