if youre gonna be using the stock cooler (which is decent btw) then you are fine, it comes pre applied. if youre gonna be using a different cooler you will need some paste.

Yes they both can work in that motherboard. You may need to update the motherboard's BIOS depending on what version of the BIOS it's currently running. MSI says the 2600x is supported as of BIOS...
