Correct, the Lenovo is verified NVMe, the HP is not. And based on reviews, it might actually be a 2.5" SATA form factor as well, since the review said they were able to add an M2 drive.

M.2 drives can be either SATA or PCIe NVMe, lower end ones come with a SATA controller instead of the NVMe controller. He is not referring to the SATA ports.
