This will work an on e sim phone. It works on my Google Pixel 3XL. All you have to do is turn off the e sim on the phone through the "settings."

I'd look somewhere else. You may even want to look at "Pay as you go plans" since she uses so little (AT&T Prepaid is 25c per minute). Or something like H2O wireless might be nice for unlimited talk...
