That was a deal from December. R a k u t e n sometimes puts on deals. Just stating this isn't the best laptop for the price if you're willing to wait for a better deal, which Lenovo has regularly.

I had ROG and Alienware, my last laptop I bought ROG, Alienware is not worth the price compared to ROG.

Upgraded to OLED and used some reward money I had. Thanks for posting this, it’s a step above what I was wanting and at a better price.

I agree the Dell Outlet is a great path too, that's how I got mine and it was brand new when I opened it. The battery upgrades for the EVOO are more expensive and have less capacity unless I missed...

newb question... so if i'm not caring about gaming so much and am more interested in this laptop as a video editing and photo editing workhorse... is this a solid choice? do I even need to spend...

i'm on the same boat as you. Styling on R2 are hands down way nicer but the specs for this at this price is hard to beat. i rather have pricing for nice specs than the R2 styling if I had to chose.

Are there any deals on laptops with large batteries, like the 90WHr battery on the alienware?

How are the thermals/cooling on this laptop?

WTF, this is expensive. Where was my FP deal when posted about the Lenovo Y740 with a 2070MQ, 500Nit display, G-SYNC, 144hz... suspicious.

3 Year SquareTrade warranty INCLUDING accidental damage for $83. 2 years from Dell for the same coverage including accidental is $479. It was a no-brainer!

I just bought this laptop a few days ago but it's still being processed and shipped. All the research I've done suggests that the thermals on a slimmer laptop with these components are always going...

Thanks for this clarifying post, I had the same feeling about the value of these other early posts. What I see based on the specs is a machine that offers all the specs combined I care about. Most...

Good deal but I would skip and go for a g7 or g5 at least you can upgrade the ram on those. I just returned my Evoo (15in 16gb ram, i7 9750h, gtx 1650, 256 ssd) I got for $650 for a dell g5 with...

Purchased with the 244 hz. It was hands down the best looking laptop I ever had. However, a few rgb keys got stuck. And dell customer service was honestly worst.

Note this is not the newer R2 version. There are better deals on very similar spec'ed gaming laptops. Check out the 17.3" deal here on the EVOO last month as an example of a great design for a...

It was from several months ago. I'm not going to look it up. (I didn't post it. I posted it in a Reddit deal list, then saw it on here several hours later) NVM it was too easy to find...

In the Walmart EVOO 17.3", the RTX 2060 was FASTER than laptops with the RTX 2070 MaxQ. One review said this laptop was 13% faster than your average RTX 2060 mobile laptop, so Tiger1330P was right...

LGA laptops are a thing of the past and honestly this is just poor advice. The inefficiency and extra space an LGA design takes has no place in this thin and light gaming notebook segment. Buy the...

To be fair, its still a very powerful laptop for the price. And its very easy to undervolt and repaste. After that I think most people have gotten the thermals under control. Massive power and small...

You have the option to upgrade to the 90WHr but you sacrifice the HDD bay. There's another slot for an additional M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD so if you're ok with sticking with M.2 memory it's worth upgrading...

People who are considering the R2 should also note that it's much harder to get to the GPU/CPU to repaste if that's what you plan on doing. They say the thermals on the R2 are better than this one...

A 2070 can reach above 144fps on these consistently? 15" 1080p display on paper seems like it should, though I have no experience with gaming laptops
Post #134879528 added 02-11-2020 11:16 AM by SiennaMagic2303 in Deal Talk
Just read the reviews. Looks like thermals are extremely poor. I'll have to pass even though the price is good

I'm worried that going with a 15" screen when I've had 17" gaming laptop for the last 5 years is something I'll regret. But the deal is soooo good!
Post #134877464 added 02-11-2020 10:02 AM by Delgada89 in Deal Talk
If you're spending 1400+ on a laptop you need to be going to a boutique seller like Eurocom, XoticPC, HID, or AVADirect since they offer LGA cpus not BGA which extends their lifetime use. Not Dell....

The Lenovo Y740 is 9th gen, 1TB HD with 256GB SSD. 16GB RAM.-just a much better all around machine. The screen alone is way better.
