Something is very wrong there, my brushed 18v saw could go longer than that with an ancient battery. My new 20v saw (not XR) goes for several cuts no problem on a 2ah battery.

It's funny that DeWalt only states a runtime comparison from the xr with 5ah batt to the old 18v with 2.4ah batt. They don't have anymore stroke or spm difference, not do they list power figures
