The Makita Brushless BL Sub-Compact has the same torque specs but the Milwaukee M12 has a much smaller battery and for the same size it's a hammer drill.

Politely disagree with you. You can remove a crank pulley bolt with the m12 fuel stubby. No need for m18 if you have the m12 fuel system. Plus the weight savings is amazing.
