There's no such thing as "pixel quality", just different types of IPS, VA, TA, OLEDs, QLED, etc. and different pixel densities. 4K is 3840x2160, meaning a 40" set should give you similar results...

PBP splits the monitor to two 1720x1440 screens. Both inputs are live. No extra software needed unless you want to hotkey changing the KVM input vs using the monitor buttons.
