Not an expert, but I've heard it said eGPU isn't comparable to having the actual card installed in the PC... And as for SSD - check this...

i use an EGPU (1080GTX) on my current NUC pc. works fine. slight performance hit. cool about SSD. might pick it up.

I got the Omen 15 before Christmas for $900 for my son who needs a quiet keyboard & longer battery life. I'll be adding a SSD in the 2.5" bay so he can use it for light editing. I never liked the...

I wish it was 512gb ssd instead of those accessories. Looks like a solid deal.

Battery life right out of the box really stinks on this from the youtube reviews I just watched. Hmmm....

Just reiterating what some people have already said, the price of the EVOO at $799 is what makes it a really great laptop. They both have their pros and cons. Screen: Draw. Both the Omen and the...

Man this was very helpful. I purchased the EVOO not fully comprehending the USB C differences. I miss out on a Thunderbolt 3 docking solution but gain the ability to Raid two nvme drives purely for...

Compared to what? it's not the best practice to post something like this without stating what you expected. For a gaming laptop without Optimus it's a strong performer at around 4 hours. Compared to...

Looks like the best price I have seen for a laptop with a GTX 1660 TI from a reputable seller plus has the free headphones and mouse. Thanks for posting.

Literally exactly the same aside from the EVOO having a 512gb ssd. The Omen has a 70watt he battery but no Optimus so battery is around 4hr standard usage while the EVOO gets around 2.5-3hrs with...

Pretty much any gaming laptop is going to have crap battery life. The omens do not have optimus, not that it really makes any difference.

I actually have both the EVOO LP5 and the HP Omen 15-dc1058wm with me right now. I bought the EVOO during the last $799 sale, but then I also saw that VIPOutlet had a grade-a refurb of the Omen. I...

I have one of the mid 2018 models of this laptop with the 1060 6gb. They are actually pretty impressive for the price. My only complaint is the picture quality could be a little better on the screen...

The SSD is smaller than the EVOO's but you really need to replace the EVOO's anyway since it can't properly enter a low power state. Aside from that I've had my EVOO for a while now and after...

It's not, the biggest waste of money and overhyped port/usage. You'd need a 2080 to get around the performance of this 1660ti and that's to an external monitor.

i have a 1080 installed in an EGPU. works great. plays 140+fps at high settings with 1440p res Overwatch.

Were they running it in hybrid/optimus mode which swaps back to the integrated GPU when not playing games?

Damn. That’s some serious graphically intensive game, Overwatch 😋
Post #134962055 added 02-14-2020 6:31 PM by bonuscow in Deal Talk
it actually is a graphically intensive game. my other PC with a GTX 2080 Ti has trouble running it in 4k. You think boring battle royale games are the only graphic intensive games?
