About 1 year ago. The one thing I did like on the TiVo bolt were the apps, 4k on amazon prime, Plex, and YouTube apps were all pretty quick.

Most of the issues with TE4 have been fixed. If you sign up to have the latest TE4 build pushed (through tivo forums) it's been a much better experience than TE3 (originally it sucked).

The wifi adapter requires TE4. If you connect the Mini through ethernet or MOCA you can run TE3.

You can opt out but most of the time it just autoskips all commercials anyway. I also don't notice tivo+. Pros now outweigh the cons at this point in my opinion.
