Not sure how accurate this is, but according to google the average housecat is 8-10 lbs. And in the US, most are indoor cats and not very active so they probably need closer to the 20 calories per lb...

My local supermarket sells 9 Lives brand hearty cuts with chicken and beef gravy - a 5.5 oz can at $.50 only. You don’t have to buy bulk. It’s the same per-can price whether you pick up 1 or 10. My...

I typically feed my 12-pound cat around 2/3 cup of Rachel Ray food a day and that seems to maintain his weight pretty well.

Damn, 24 cans is considered bulk? I buy the 60 count case of Friskies from Costco. I only have one kitty though, and also I'm a dude.

9 Lives is absolute bottom-of-the-barrel quality food....and 50 cents a can is pretty expensive for that stuff. You can get Friskies (which is marginally better) for that price fairly often.

Knowing those numbers, it's pretty crazy an average cat can eat 500 calories and an average human (probably 15x the weight) eats 2000. They must have insane metabolisms.

Agree, and this particular style/flavor of FF is not a particular favorite around the house, ended up feeding half of it to the dog last time it hit $10.
