Any monitor that is VESA compatible can be used in portrait/vertical setup but the question comes down to if you will be mounting or not,... not many stands rotate into portrait setup

FreeSync monitors are supported by GSync only if they use DisplayPort connection. Looks like this one is HDMI only, which means no GSync. :(
