But for $20 more (still a very reasonable $100) the U2412m is much better for office and casual home use. I suppose this would be a little better than the U2412m for budget gamers though.

75hz is more than acceptable for console gamers as well as a good percentage of PC games especially older games. I would recommend a 144hz 1440p monitor for the latest graphically intensive PC ...

Who is this for? At 75hz it's not for gamers. TN it's not for creatives. Office workers don't need 75hz and would do better with more pixels (or 16:10) - so the U2412m for $100 that's been floating...

This is better: 1. 1080p sucks on a 27” 2. Dell is a better brand 3. Staples deal has expired.

Ordered. I just need something decent for my work bench where I test out computers as I repair them. No VESA doesn't bother me as it will stay on a stand.

Needed a sub-$100 model to connect my game consoles and this one fills the bill nicely. Nice that it's freesync too.

a few years ago a 1ms rated 75hz monitor with 2 HDMI inputs and freesync was absolutely a gaming monitor, and at this price it would have won several awards for budget rigs. Honestly, even today...

I don't think that'll work for ya, I doubt the stand supports portrait mode, it also doesn't have VESA holes, so you can't go that route. I could be wrong, but it doesn't look to me like portrait...
