You're comparing different weights. The 5.2 lbs. would be for the entire unit. The 2.5 lb is the amount of dry fill inside the unit. Both are 1-A:10-BC units, the rating of its fire fighting...

*SOME* fire departments have a recharge system but it seems not many anymore, it used to be more common. It's worth a 911 call and ask for a non-emergency callback from fire to see if they can do it...

You’re supposed to charge the uncharged one with the charged one, and when the charged one is empty you need to recharge that one with the newly charged one...continue this until both are empty
