Isn't that the industry standard for 9V though? All of my guitar pedals and 9V adapters are center-negative so this works out pretty well.

I think it's fine. I moved into a house with a several groups of multiple switches, many of them three-way. Labeling helped me remember what was what.

Careful with the DC adapter use, the polarity is reversed on the PTD210: Positive is on the outside (stupidly).
