Most users can't sit at a desk and work with a 50" tv screen inches away from their face. Granted it may look cool while gaming. But I think tv screens are not the best choice for a serious level...

I'm sure someone answered you by now, I have it and I love it. Just remember you'll need something for sound (if you're not currently using a monitor) this monitor doesn't have speakers.

For YouTube Videos, 4k only makes it easier to sit closer or watch from a distance-no difference for bad eyes. The bright colors and HDR may make it easier for her to watch without glasses..
