poison is terrible in most cases. The critters will die in places hard to get to. When they die they will stink up the place for months.

If you release them soon after it gets trapped, it's quite easy to get them out. Pull the lever and it falls out. If you wait too long and they start to decompose, it gets a lot harder to remove...
