There doesn't seem to be any reviews of this Barracuda 120 model yet. The prior Barracuda used an old Phison S10 controller. Wonder what this one uses.

this is a sata drive. ~100 for 1TB seems to be the going rate for something with DRAM. I wish i bought a 2nd hynix when it was on amazon for $85 the other week.

Yes it does have DRAM. It uses the Phison S12 controller. It's not bad, a small step below the MX500, 860 Evo, etc.

You can, but it probably is not worth the cost for you. SATA SSD are more than fast enough for the vast, vast majority of use cases. M.2 NVME drives perform nearly the same as SATA drives in everyday...
