It is the weakest but the focal length is the closest to nifty fifty, and also at 229, that's close half the price of the 16 or 56 I do have the 16 and it is my favorite wide angle lens for apsc....

I have both lenses for my A6500. I use both for kids and family. I use 16 more for group pics and 30 for candid shots and bokeh. Mostly use for indoors. For outdoors, I use Sony 24-105.

I used to own a 50 and 30 myself and used the 50 for about 80% of the time tbh. To each their own though. I know many photographers who have 5+ lenses, each serving a purpose.

For videos, it's fine. For pictures, I don't recommend it as you will have to shoot in super 35 mode so you will be down to 10mp.

No problem. For apsc, really the best primes are the sigma trio(16,30,56). And if I were to get only one prime on apsc especially if you have Ibis then this sigma 30 would be it.

This lens is an APS-C mount so not a great option for a full frame like an A7III unless you set the camera to super 35 mode.

Yeah the mount is the same but the lens is made for a camera with s smaller aps-c sensor so you have to put the full frame camera in a crop sensor mode, creating a 1.5ish zoom, making this lens...

Not a happy Sigma customer. Have 50mm 1.4 lens and I never use it. Not too sharp, I am sorry Sigma, your price don't intimidate me. Save few bucks here and spend on nice lens.

I’ve been waiting on this deal. They charged $17 tax but I had rewards points which equaled $10 plus cash back which equaled $6. So my total was $230. Sweet!
