From Rtings, both scores low for movies however Sony excels in all other scores compared to Samsung. One more thing to account is the price for a new Samsung vs refurbished for a Sony.

If your main priorities are sports and gaming, this sony is a very good deal. If you are watching a lot of netflix, movies, cable, then a tcl 6 or the Hiscense you mentioned are better buys.
