I was in the same shape as you, and got a 10" DeWalt slider, putting it on the Ridgid $99 rolling stand. It's a nice setup, but takes tons of room behind the saw, which has become a deal breaker....

The big draw of the Delta, Bosch, and I believe a Makita, is that it requires MUCH LESS room behind the saw. The rail-mounted models are preferable if you have the room (open air, miter stand that...

The Herc says it has a cut capacity of 14 inches while the Cruzer says it has 16 inches (even though Herc is 12 in and Cruzer is 10 in saw) so why is Herc better for trim? Have you used both? Thanks

With the fence fully installed the max capacity at 90 degrees on the 10” Delta is 4x12, the top part of the fence can slide off but you then need to use a sacrificial board to raise the cutting...
