I don't know exactly but here is my guess: returns from unsold inventory open boxes/damaged enroute normal returns all of them are inspected and usually have headband and pads replaced, afaik....

Same here, got issues with both drivers right out of the box, Audeze fixed that for free. 3 months later the right driver gave up. I have a feeling that this time I will have to pay for the shipping....

Are you draft? Yes most devices with an analog headphone jack will not provide the power these need out of that analog port. the cipher bypasses that for digital requirements that allow more power...

You're right that they should not be treated like regular ear buds, but the Cipher cable isn't important because of the shortcomings of analog....its because of the shortcomings of the iSine design....

Completely different. iSine 20 is like having a small open headphone in your ear, no isolation, but absolutely blows away the sound quality of the SE215 when using the Cipher cable or analog cable...

Electrostats are usually a lot more expensive. They sound phenomenal, though. The Stax I heard several years ago were unbelievable, but they were also a couple grand. So there's that.

Hmmmm... last time the EL-8s were $249 for B-stock, it was the titanium version which included a cipher cable. This time, it's the wood version and no cipher cable.

I own the 10s as well and use the Anker lightening to USB-C on my Note 8 and Tab S6 perfectly. To clarify for others... do NOT attempt to use the iSine series with a regular aux headphone cable...

did you use a tube or hybrid tube amp by any chance? I used a lockjie p20 on them a few times but I'm afraid to try it again. I thought it would be OK because the power is being drawn through opamps...

I don't remember if I saw it but I think it came with the standard and lightning cable as iSine 10 has both. I'm guessing iSine 20 would be the same.

Be careful, there is a plastic box around where the metal headband meets the earcup. That can shatter fairly easily.
