I've been looking at this for a cheap mobile gaming laptop but am concerned about cooling. Is it single or dual fans? How loud does fan(s) it get during a high GPU load? Also, is RAM single or dual...

Lol, I know. Its hard to find any ultrabook with a dedicated GPU at this price. I dont need a 4K touchscreen, 32gb of ram or a 1tb ssd but some ultrabooks with decent integrated graphics, like Ice...

I was shocked to see a gpu at all at just over 2.5 lbs and under $1000. You are paying for size like every ultrabook on the market. Putting that much power and heat into such a small package and...

This review: https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/msi-ps42-8rb says it gets hot with a mx150. With a 1050 you could probably wear some latex gloves and sous vide your fingers.

I'm with you on this. This isn't a good deal, especially for 8th gen processor with 1050maxq. You can find way better hardware for maybe a $100-200 more. I've seen sales on MSI stealth's that are at...

Is this a joke? $829 for a 1050 Max-Q? in March of 2020? This should be like 599 at most. I would wait for the new models to hit and at WORST get something much more up to date. I wouldn't...

$800 for a 1050 maxq even if you don’t ever intend on using it for gaming is a no. You may as well buy a better price per dollar laptop which are plentiful or downgrade to a brand where you get less...

This model (PS42) has a max screen brightness around 240nits. Also has a very small (3.8 x 2.2-inch) plastic touch pad that feels nothing at all like the huge glass touchpad on a MacBook.

I’d recommend finding a 2019 Helios 300, if you’re comfortable with going used. Should be around the same price as this but with a better GPU and cooling.

There is almost no good reason why you want to upgrade to 32gb unless you are using it for intense workloads. More ram does not make the PC faster, just gives it extra headroom for running more...
