Just use plastic(The rice scooper) or wooden utensils to scoop the rice out and you'll be fine..

Tip for better taste rice. After the ricer cooker indicates the rice is ready, DON'T open it, just let it keep warm for another 15 to 20 minutes so that the rice will get enough moisture in the core.

I agree for the cheap zojirushi with only the cook button. However, after getting this, it is done when it says it is. Remember to fluff once it's finished!

I don't think so. Never had any problems with the pot myself. Still looks brand new. I have had this rice cooker for almost a couple of years, use it all the time and it is great!!
