Personally, I love SG1, but Atlantis was better in the fact it was a tad more polished. It was unfortunately cut short for Stargate Universe. The last season of Atlantis was possibly the best season...

Sorry, yes, that is what I meant. SG1 had a few "meh" periods/story lines, but it was on for a long time, so to be expected. Much more likable character and they generally didn't drag storyline out...

No you do not need to watch SG1 or SGA you won't missed much. Only thing I can remember is it started good but ended bad or unfinished.

Complete opposite for me (and I think a lot of people). SGU was mostly whiny characters arguing and having various personal crisis. It was Star Trek Discovery of the SG universe.
