Wrong. Deadlifts also benefit from this shoe. Main reason these are so effective is because it relaxes your dorsiflexion ROM. So if you have tight ankles or bad knees, these can help a lot. ...

I really like my matflex 5 for deadlifts, and since I low bar squat, ankle mobility isnt such a big issue with them. Just a nice pointer. Those shoes rock

it really comes down to are you actually weightlifting (ie performing snatch and C&J) or just squatting. these shoes are geared for the former, but can benefit people with poor mobility for squats...
