When the next gen Ryzen comes out (Zen 4) it would be a different beast. Only buy Zen 3 if you have extra DDR4 sticks and an AM4 mobo. Otherwise the next gen will be using DDR5

Ryzen 4000 is not around the corner. It was slated for a 2022 release but that will be pushed back. Don’t confuse laptop and desktop CPU’s.
