Also the one I have that was wired correctly seems to be turning A/C on well below the set temp. I set it to 72 and it kicks AC on around 68. Not sure if I'll be keeping

Is it AC or just the fan? Might be a fan feature. I can set my NEST to run the fan every hour for 15 minutes to 30 mins. Lux manual calls it IAQ or indoor air quality mode

Thanks so much! The first time I did it all power wasn't off, previous owner mislabeled breakers. This time I think I have something up with the wiring. Power was off to the whole house this time

sounds like you blew the 3amp fuse inside the unit (if it's somewhat a newer unit)
