Oh my b, the $99 are renewed, I just assumed they were new because they were on the Edifier bookshelf speaker product page. And you can connect through optical, RCA to RCA, RCA to 3.5 mm, and...

Does the R1280DB use 3.5mm for PCs or do you have to have optical ports? Is $129 the price for them that you're referring to?

These may be useful as PC speakers, I guess. 56 Hz - 20 kHz and 10w each. Oof. I use a Bose CineMate G2 Series II as my quick and easy PC speakers. Picked them up on Craigslist for $80......

I'm not sure about the r980t, but the r1280t destroys the Alesis Elevate 3. Alesis elevates are pretty muddy and sibilant. I don't think they can or should be used as studio monitors, but as a pair...

These can be used on their own as they have a power supply and each have 10w amps. You can connect anything with an rca cable.

Yes and No (maybe) The Yes, RCA from Turntable to RCA inputs on the monitors. The No, you may need a Phono pre-amp to go between them. They don't cost much for a basic one and might be worth...
