As others mentioned, avoid cooked bones and stick with raw beef bones. A local butcher is a good place to get them for a decent price. I have also found them in Asian supermarkets (e.g. 99 Ranch)...

Pork bones splinter and are not recommended for dogs. Beef bones only for dogs. Seems like a deal until you get the $75 xray and antibiotic bill for your doggie.
