The User Guide is useless but the marketing page shows this laptop can handle 12GB total with 1 upgrade slot available so I would expect to be able to put in a 4GB or 8GB dimm....

Yes, it will be. The A6 ain't much compared to the Ryzen 3 & the 128 SSD is quite adequate for me (using only around 35 GB right now). Take that sucker back & get this fine Asus if you can.
