Had the exact model since last black Friday (it was cheaper than now, BTW), never experienced high heat
Sustained writing from an external SSD (for ~500gb data), AIDA64 showed no higher than 74~75...

Yeah that's totally worth it.
AFAIK these Adata drives are very similar to HP, but the HP's reviews have less reliability issues. I'd be willing to bet they have more quality checks, etc.

NVMe prices have really stagnated. The 2TB Sabrent Rocket (the fast OG version) was $220 during Black Friday 2018 for reference. Hasn't been that price since nor has any other 2TB NVMe drive close...

I did read that the QD32 test was more accurate, but the ATTO test results are so different, that's a concern. ...

Went with the Gammix S11 Pro 2tb for $249. Cheaper than it's non spreader version 8200 pro for $259. Both better than this 8100 model, consider the $20.
