I have this tv and LOVE it. The darkness it gets to when its a dark scene, really makes you immerse yourself more into the scene...you can actually make out peoples outlines.

It's not an "led" tv. It's an "lcd" tv with an led backlight. "Led" tv's are a totally different technology. And I own plasma, lcd, and Oled too so where's my cookie? Lol.

You can get some of that on any LED, even this one. This is a very good LED TV, but IMO, all LED's are not on the same level as the OLED's. I own both.

The price is going down because it's also 2 years old and Sony has newer more expensive models(not necessarily better either--see Rtings).
