If it's a REALLY old non-retina MBP you can probably upgrade with a 2.5" SATA SSD. Otherwise they're all proprietary. You could get this and put it in the USB3 enclosure I linked earlier, I suppose.

Yes it will. If you only have one m.2 slot, you can image the old m.2 disk with Macrium to another drive and then burn that image to the new m.2, or you can use an external m.2 USB3 adapter....

This 2TB drive is basically the same price as a 1TB EVO+ while the 2TB EVO+ is $430.... Samsung doesn't even make the normal EVO or Pro drives in 2TB capacities at the moment.
