When I was a kid, my dad brought me to watch Mortal Kombat when it came out and I swear the theater had the volume cranked to 100%. It was deafening! I’m going to add it to my movie collection and...

I don’t understand. Most of these are movies anywhere so you will automatically have them on Apple/iTunes.

The high dynamic range (HDR/Dolby Vision) is the biggest difference in 4K media. Pacific Rim in 4K blows the pants off of its Blu-ray counterpart in this aspect.

I was a teenager watched it in theaters while tripping. It wasn't until it came out to rent that I realized the movie wasn't super bloody.

Pacific Rim might be the best looking movie I’ve seen in HDR. It’s pretty amazing. $5 is an awesome deal on it. That’s the movie to use if you’re ever trying to show off your 4K HDR tv to your...

I feel like there was a big comedy movie drought in the 2010's ...there were a lot of comedies, but they just didn't do it for me. The Other Guys was one of my favorites of the decade though......

This is a TV that can regularly hit 500 or less dollars. Damn, that high horse must be COMFY, because refuse to get off it. There isn't a single issue on that TV that is nearly a big enough deal that...

In fairness, it's not easy to write a compelling story about a character you basically turned into god a third of the way through. They ended up taking an eye-roll worthy, deep-dive into waxing...

Yeah, was going to grab one but although the posted link still shows up, none of the prices are $4.99. DEAL IS EXPIRED Which is a shame because Vudu should really have some $4.99 movies over the...

Sweet! ... and don't forget to apply your $2 credit if you earned it last week. I never saw Captain Phillips (93% fresh, 4K MA). That's an easy choice to buy. I might get The Other Guys, too. ...

Absolutely agree on the HDR factor. 4K itself is a bit overrated, but HDR is one of those things that just can't be unseen. If only we had the option to buy movies in 1080p with HDR... sigh

Good points. I dress HDR in another post here. But I know most people don't have high quality atmos systems (I do, and Atmos is very cool). Dolby surround and DTS neural X get you 95% there......

h265 is more like 4x more efficient than h264 and really excels in low-bitrate scenarios. I could show you a full bitrate 40Mb/s 1080p rip in h264 and the same in h265 at 10Mb/s and you'd have a hard...
