Part of the reason to buy this is because it plugs into your xbox, with 2 batteries you will always have 1 full. Might be better just to get regular rechargeable batteries.

The controller will work with the series X. You would likely need a USB to USB cable to adapt the charger to the series X, or just charge inside the controller itself.

It should work with an older XBone if you get a usb-extender to plug it in, but it won't socket into the body like it would with an XBoneX.
