I switched from GSMA (ATT) on Red Pocket to CDMA (Verizon) because the CDMA plans let me hotspot from my iPhone. This was worth it for me.

I would say so. Redpocket is an mvno to all 4 big players. So, technically if you are using them on Sprint network you can't take advantage of any more port in promos. Just my 2¢ though.

You can still try Verizon service for $5 for first month. Only disadvantage on Verizon and TMo is that you don't get extra data that AT&T and Sprint can get you. Why not try unlimited plan on Verizon...

When you select CDMA (Verizon) the full price is charged. Not $5. Even though it says valid on CDMA. Must be some error.

If your "unlocked" phone came from a particular provider, that's your best bet. If, however, it's "true" unlocked like Samsung factory unlocked devices, you can choose any that your phone has bands...
