Agree with this. The HPA-300 is a workhorse. Loud, but super effective and also if I recall it was the third or fourth highest-rated air purifier CR tested.

5300-2 uses 70 watt, P300 60 watts. P300 also comes with a remote. Anyway the P300 is sold out at HD now

Yeah it won't work with a smart outlet. I've tried. Since it uses digital button, when you turn it off it stays off and no way to turn it non via smart outlet unless you physically press the button...

I have both the 5500-2 and 5300-2. I would say the operating cost for 5300-2 is alot lower. The generic filters for 5300 is readily available, ​where the 5500-2 filter is $52 cheapest.

As the other use said, will not work. It will stay off with power loss. If you buy the unit with a remote, you can use an IR blaster to turn it back on, that's what I have set up.
