Wear it around the house for an hour. If anything starts to be uncomfortable then it's not the right size and/or shape. You're looking for equal amount of pressure everywhere

Pull the chin straps out to slide it on, this helps. Helmet should fit snug and not cause pain. It will break in so you have to take that into consideration.

That’s a great point. Helmets need to fit the head style or they will feel bad and might lead to headaches on longer rides.
