Yeah I got the 8GB and it works in my prebuilt with PCIe 3.0. Found that HWInfo was able to to monitor the card's temps.

I'd say probably not. The graphics card is a 130W part which is going to be almost entirely from the 12v rail. Your 300W PSU probably only has about 110W available for 12v components.
