I got my 24lber and 50lber poweblock for over a couple of weeks already, am incredibly satisfied.
The 24s are much much smaller than the other ones, I really dont think you will find them "bulky."...

This isn't a good deal. You can get the elite 50 lbs which is also expandable for $300 when in stock. 24 lbs is nothing. Just go to Wal-Mart and buy 25 and 10 lb dumbbells less than $100.
